Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 2357239. Bbl. 18". Barrel marked behind front sight "UNDERWOOD / 8-43 / flaming bomb". Flip type rear sight marked "R?-SG". Sight appears to be replacement. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Sight is unmarked. Sight is slightly loose on barrel. Barrel band w/ bayonet lug & wire type swivel is marked "SI". Six o'clock slide is marked "SA". Flat bolt marked "SG". Milled trigger housing marked "INLAND". Rotary safety. Mag. catch has 30 round extension. Straight cut hammer marked "IN". Low wood oval cut walnut stock marked "P-U" in sling slot. Stock is additionally marked at end of grip w/ white painted "62" rack number & tiny "B". Four rivet walnut handguard marked "IO". Vintage green web sling. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear & handling marks throughout w/ notable chip on right side behind receiver. Metal retains 75% of its original parkerized finish w/ light wear. Rear sight base on receiver had metal removed on left front edge of sight dovetail. Area is approx. 1/4" in diameter & is devoid of finish. Barrel band & bayonet lug are blued. Good shiny bore w/ strong lands. (25-5051/RW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
