Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 5127360. Bbl. 18". Barrel is marked behind front sight "INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 4-44". Milled adjustable aperture rear sight marked with "H" in shield. Blade front sight with protective ears. Sight base marked ".U.". Barrel band with bayonet lug marked "Q". Six o'clock slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "ROCK OLA". Milled trigger guard marked "SG". Rotary safety. Straight cut hammer marked ".U.". Walnut stock set. Stock is marked on left side over pistol grip "AAL" indicating an overhaul at the Augusta Arsenal. Pistol grip has partial encircled "P" proof on left side and faint "crossed cannon" marking at end. Correct folding stock and buttplate. Leather pad appears to be arsenal replacement. Oiler is present. Two rivet handguard marked "IO". Vintage green web sling. MAGS: one detachable 15 round GI marked "IA". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: green canvas two magazine pouch marked "US / BISCAYNE TENT & AWNING CO. INC. 194?". CONDITION: stock, grip and handguard have well worn arsenal rework finish with numerous handling marks. Folding stock has turned overall gray and patina. Leather cheek pad is extremely worn with missing areas. Metal parts retain 50% of their original worn parkerized finish. Very good shiny bore. (25-6521/RW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
