KIT WITH MAGAZINES & DRUMS. Thompson submachine gun kit consisting of: 1) x1 Savage mfg. Thompson lower assembly. Underside is marked with an encircled U.S. "GEG" cartouche, followed by S# "NO.S-443730". Arsenal blue finish with 1-piece wood pistol grip. 2) x1 Thompson Model 1928 bbl. with Cutts Compensator. 3) x1 blued steel bolt assembly consisting of a bolt body, firing pin, extractor, brass "blish" block, and charging handle. 4) x2 wood forends with finger grooves and bottom mounted sling swivels. 1 forend with receiver iron. 5) x1 plain wood buttstock with blued steel trapdoor buttplate. Original sling swivel cutout has been filled in, with a stamped steel sling swivel added on the comb. Left side of stock exhibits 2 circular wood plug repairs. Metal fittings exhibit a reapplied blue finish. 6) x1 custom forearm assembly consisting of an ungrooved plain wood forearm with a vertical foregrip added at the rear. 7) an assortment of small parts and accessories including x2 mainsprings, x1 buffer rod (with buffer), x1 M1A1 Lyman rear sight, x1 disassembly tool, x1 black "wrinkle" finished brass oiler, x3 Thompson cleaning rods, as well as a small bag of assorted small parts. 8) x1 5-cell khaki canvas web pouch containing x2 Seymour 20-rd. mags., and x3 Auto-Ordnance 20-rd. mags. 9) x1 5-cell khaki canvas web pouch containing x1 Seymour 20-rd. mag. and x4 Auto-Ordnance 20-rd. mags. 10) x1 3-cell khaki canvas web pouch containing x2 Seymour 30-rd. mags. and x1 Crosby 30-rd. mag. 11) x1 3-cell M3 "Grease Gun" OD canvas web pouch containing x3 Crosby 30-rd. mags. 12) x1 M3 "Grease Gun" OD canvas mag. dump pouch containing x4 Seymour 30-rd. mags. 13) x1 loose Auto-Ordnance 20-rd. mag. and x1 reblued mag. marked "PATENTED-AUG.20,1920/ AUG.24,1920-JAN.11,1921". 14) x5 loose Seymour 30-rd. mags. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal/arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning, as well as some light surface oxidation, with some spots of pitting present beneath the bluing. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Mags. and pouches/carriers exhibit varying degrees of wear, but otherwise appear sound. Refinished mag. exhibits scattered areas of moderate pitting beneath the finish. (02-24226/MLW). NON-GUN. $1,500-3,000.
