Lot 1267 WELL ACCESSORIZED MG-42 GPMG DISPLAY GUN / PARTS
KIT. MG-42 GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) display gun / parts kit assembled on a milled steel receiver. Gun appears to be assembled from a variety of war time and post-war parts. Bbl. is marked "cyw" over an encircled "cyq/ 1", a stylized "cyq" and a German Eagle/15 proof, with a boxed "K-5" proof stamped on the side. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Post-war wood buttstock with 2-piece grooved brown synthetic grips. Standard flip-up blade front sight and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 2-20. German WWII "1943" dated folding bipod. No matching numbers. Bolt assembly and charging handle are absent. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: x1 post-war MG-42/MG3 Anti-Aircraft tripod, x1 unmarked MG-34 Gurtfulller 34 belt loader (coated in a thick layer of old cosmoline) in ammunition can, x1 "10/77" dated German MG3 belt loader in ammunition can, x2 MG42 50-rd. "basket" drum mags. in carrier (mags. and carrier with green painted exterior), x1 blued steel 50-rd. "basket" drum mag., x6 50-rd. MG-34/MG-42 belts, 8 cut sections of receiver (1 including muzzle booster, 1 including stock socket assembly), 1 cut bbl. shroud, a spare "bpr" receiver cover, x1 spare German WWII "1944" dated bipod, x1 charging handle, x1 German WWII trigger pack assembly/housing, x1 post-war green synthetic buttstock, x1 bolt recoil spring, as well as some assorted small parts. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their professionally reapplied blue finish overall, exhibiting some light edge wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Very bright bore, exhibiting a couple of small scattered spots of pitting and streaks of grease along the edges of the lands, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Stock rotates freely. Grips show general wear and scattered handling marks, with the right panel exhibiting a crack at the top and bottom edges of the safety button. Belt loaders are very good overall. Ammunition cans show scattered spots of flaking, wear, and oxidation, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Spare parts show varying degrees of wear and oxidation, but otherwise appear serviceable. Tripod is very good overall. An exceptionally attractive and well accessorized MG-42 display gun / parts kit.
