Lot 1232 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY BERETTA BM59 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY

RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x51. S# X001320. Bbl. 23 3/8" including Tri-Compensator. The BM59 rifles were imported by Springfield Armory of Geneseo, Illinois in the 1980s as parts kits and were assembled in the United States. The parts included some Beretta marked receivers as in this example. The receiver is marked at heel "P. BERETTA / 7.62mm BM59 / Gardoni V.T. / ITALIA / serial number". Receiver marked on left side below rear sight "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY". All major parts marked "BERETTA" except bolt, which is marked "WRA" and hammer which is marked "HR". Adjustable aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Integral folding grenade launcher sight. Barrel is fitted with Tri-Compensator which has bayonet lug. Folding bipod is present. Trigger guard equipped with folding winter trigger. Unmarked walnut stock and handguard. Hard rubber buttplate with folding shoulder rest and side swinging trap cover. Butt swivel hinges to the left. Green web sling. MAGS: five detachable 20 round military-issue magazines. All marked "BR BM59" on floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: included is a 6 5/8" bladed Italian-issue bayonet. Bayonet is unmarked. Grooved brown plastic grips retained by two screws. Bayonet is fitted in green plastic scabbard with tan web frog. Frog has inked matching serial number. Bayonet is in very good condition with light wear and small spots of flaking paint on scabbard. Additionally included, Springfield Armory order form, "Slam-Fire" article reprint, Beretta BM59 operator's manual and a warranty card signed by Dennis Reese, Springfield Armory President and stamped with matching serial number. Also included is a black padded synthetic carrying case. CONDITION: stock set has very light wear with scattered tiny handling marks. The wood has been slightly relieved on the right side of the barrel channel, not visible when rifle is assembled. Rifle retains 95% of its factory parkerized with very light hi-point wear.
