SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE WITH MATCHING SCOPE. Cal. 7.62x51mm. S# 101520. Bbl. 27 3/8". NDM-86 semi-automatic rifle (commercial variation of the Chinese Type 79/85 "Dragunov") mfg. in China by Norinco and imported by STC. The left side of the milled receiver is marked "STC/ SEL MONTE/ CA", with "NORINCO/ NDM 86 7.62X51mm/ MADE IN CHINA" marked on the right. Underside of the receiver is marked "7.62X51" above the S#, forward of the mag. well. Metal components exhibit a black enamel finish overall, save for on the bolt carrier and bolt, which exhibit a dull gray finish. 2-piece ventilated laminated wood forearm and reddish/brown bakelite capped laminated wood skeleton buttstock with flat steel buttplate and removable brown leather cheek rest. AK pattern post front sight with tangent V-notch rear sight marked "N" (in apparent Cyrillic at lowest position) and graduated 1-12 in red highlighted characters. Integral optic rail is mounted with a correct Chinese Type-JJJ 4x24 optic. Chrome lined bore and 1-piece flash hider with integral bayonet lug. All serialized parts are matching the receiver via "1520" and include the selector lever, trigger housing assembly, receiver cover, bolt carrier, bolt, rear sight leaf (electro-penciled), bbl., as well as the gas piston. Handguards are matching via "1520" which is handwritten on the interior of each panel. Type-JJJ optic is properly matching to the buttstock via "1000485". MAGS: 2 10-rd. mags. 1 mag. remains wrapped in its factory packaging. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory black enamel type finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, as well as some small scattered spots of flaking (most notably on the optic rail). Brilliant mirror chrome lined bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows a few minor superficial marks and small impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good to excellent overall. Removable leather cheek rest remains malleable, with no traces of age related cracking or crazing. Type-JJJ scope retains a clear and sharp optic. An exceptionally attractive and desirable Chinese NDM-86 rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm. (25-2197/MLW). MODERN. $4,000-6,000.
