Cal. 410. S# 39615. Bbl. 12". Desirable gun, manufactured almost a century ago. The Harrington & Richardson (H&R) smooth bore Handy Gun was manufactured from the early 1920s through 1934. It is a small game gun that was commercially available in both .410 & 28Ga with barrels approximately 8" or 12". Though the exact number of Handy Guns manufactured is really unknown, it has been rumored that there were in excess of 25,000 produced. Blued barrel & "Tiger Stripe" cyanide dipped, case hardened receiver. Brass bead front sight. Checkered wooden pistol grip & smooth fore grip. Single shot break action. Bbl. marked on top "MADE IN U.S.A. .41GA CHOKE ". Considered an any other weapon by the National Firearms Act (AOW). CONDITION: numbers matching on barrel & frame. Case colors are vivid and well defined over the entire receiver. Barrel is uniform blued finish w/ extremely gentle patina visible under close inspection. Wood shows some typical handling marks, mostly in the form of light scratches, impressions & finish thinning. Bore is bright.
