^Lot 1686 Remington 740 'Woodsmaster' 30-06 Spring. #24016

Vintage Remington 'Woodsmaster' magazine fed semi-automatic sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Manufactured in Ilion, NY circa 1955 (Date code LB). It features a blued finish, 22" tapered barrel, ramped blade front sight with bead top, elevation adjustable folding rear sporting sight, Weaver fixed 4x with fine fine crosshairs and dot, smooth curved trigger, alloy trigger guard with cross-bolt safety, detachable 4 round box magazine, smooth walnut forend with gasping grooves and semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with serrated metal buttplate & 13 ½” LOP. Rifle retains approximately 80% of its original blued finish showing light wear around the receiver, and buttplate (more significant). There are a few scattered spots of emerging rust on receiver, along barrel, end-cap, and front sight post. Action is crisp, the bore is dirty, but with good rifling and showing some patina. The optics are slightly hazy with the finish worn on the scope and mount. The wood stocks are good with heavy handling marks, but has no cracks.
