SN: 220822. Antique Swiss military tube-fed bolt action rimfire service rifle. Stamped "Swiss Cross, serial number, Waffenfabrik Bern M81" on left receiver. Features a blued finish, 33" barrel, blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight, 13-rd tubular magazine under barrel, smooth trigger, finger rest trigger guard, cocked indicator on the rear if the bolt, cleaning rod, straight grip shoulder stock with smooth metal buttplate and cross hatching on forend. Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel, receiver, butt plate tang, bolt shroud and lifter. Manufacture Dates: 1882-1889. Swiss proof marks, Crown over "R" inspection cartouches on right forearm & butt stock inspection and acceptance marking. (Reymann), "D5 C1 cartouche with Swiss cross in between in comb. Blue is about 85% with handling/edge wear, bore is excellent/bright, action is smooth and the wood is good/sound with some dents, mostly in the butt stock.
