Chinese military bolt action rifle manufactured circa 1955 at the State Factory 26, arsenal 296 at Congqing, Sichuan Prov., China. Imported by Navy Arms Co., Ridgefield, NJ. and marked on the right side of the receiver. Modeled after the Russian M44. Features 20" barrel, post front sight inside protective ring, tangent style rear sight graduated to 1000 meters, straight bolt handle, sling slots, no cleaning rod, smooth curved trigger, and folding spike bayonet. Bore is excellent/bright, strong rifling. Retains 75% bluing and metal shows light scattered rust on bayonet, buttplate, and stock metal. Bolt assembly is in-the-white. Wood is in serviceable condition with heavy handling marks. Serial numbers do not match.
