British military issue bolt action Lee Enfield SMLE short rifle, manufactured circa 1936. Imported by Federal Ordinance Inc. (left side of butt socket on receiver), 25.2" barrel with tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters and adjustable for windage, fixed blade front sight with curved protectors, curved grooved trigger, and bayonet lug. Fed from detachable 10-rd box magazine and with no magazine cutoff. Four piece hardwood stock with brass trapdoor buttplate, and brass stock disc with what appears to be middle eastern characters. The metal finish seems to be parkerized. Bore is Dark/dirty, and rifling is hard to determine. Action is smooth/tight. Wood is overall very good with a 1.5" crack near the receiver on the handguard, the metal is good with minor handling wear. Observed serial numbers do not match. Receiver is marked "G.R. 1936" stamped on the buttsocket. Includes (1) Magazine.
Condition is NRA Good.
