Lot 1052 Brazilian 1908/34 .30-06 Sprg #4398
This is a post-war, Brazilian made 1808 pattern Mauser bolt-action rifle variant from the Itahuba, Brazil (later IMBEL) factory. The rifle is chambered from the factory in .30-06 with a 22” barrel. The rifle has seen some modification to by the previous owner to fit their needs. The banded rear sight and assembly has been completely removed in favor of a Lyman 57 receiver mounted, fully adjustable peep sight. The factory front sight post has also been removed in favor of a checkered, ramped front sight with a brass beaded sight. The upper handguard, barrel bands and the guard retainer screws are not present on the rifle. Serialized components are matching. The stock has a lot of wear, showing scratches, and depressions across its surface, but bears no significant damage or cracking. The stock is stamped with a matching serial number, has an armory rack number painted on it of 021 as well as the remnants of a crest on the right face. Original finish is approximately 70%, showing significant wear on the guard, receiver, barrel (just over the bayonet lug) and butt plate. The Brazilian crest has also been partially worn off. Bore shows evidence of wear, but remains shiny and crisp.
