Smooth walnut stock and forearm. Blued fore cap and black plastic factory buttplate. Barrel stamped "Marlin 39M Article II, The Marlin firearms Co., North Haven, Conn. U.S.A." No NRA medallion, no evidence it ever had one. Wood is very good with minor scratches, bore is excellent/bright, action is smooth/tight. Blued finish is about 85% with minor scratches, handling wear mostly on the receiver.
