"Lend Lease" (to British Commonwealth, probably during WWII). US military Mauser pattern bolt action rifle manufactured circa 1919. Often referred to as "Enfield", due to British Enfield type rifling. Features 26" barrel, protected blade front sight. folding ladder type rear peep sight, manual safety, 6 round magazine, wood handguard & stock with grasping grooves, trap door in butt, sling swivels, stacking swivel. Bore is bright, with some frosting. Retains 70% blued finish with edge losses, handling marks. Wood shows dents & dings, red paint behind front band ("30-06" stencil in black paint is barely readable). Metal fit to wood is very good. Retains US Army Ordnance "bomb" marks. Barrel dated "1-19". Broad Arrow inside letter "C" stamped on right side of butt.
