Kentucky rifle/Pennsylvania percussion rifle by famed gun maker Tip Curtis. James 'Tip' Curtis (1936-2020) was known for building early American and early European flintlock and cap-lock rifles that were highly sought after. Lifetime member of the NRA and the NMLRA. 36' octagonal barrel signed "Tip Curtis" in script on the top barrel flat, large dovetailed blade front sight & rear semi-buckhorn adjustable sight. matte finished barrel with bright metal fittings. Full stock curly maple stock with fore end cap, right hand cheek rest and curved buttplate, double set triggers, the lock plate, hammer and left escutcheon have light floral engraving, hammer action and half cock function well. Metal tipped wooden ramrod with 3 thimbles. the rifled bore is very good/bright and the wood is overall very good/sound with a scuff on the comb.
