Rare caliber model 99-EG in .250-3000 Savage. This version features a solid frame with a checkered pistol grip and a Schnabel-tipped forend. According to the book "A Collector's Guide to the Savage 99 Rifle" (Page 80) "very few EG's were produced in any other caliber than .300 Savage". This makes this rifle one of the "Very Few". The EG was produced from 1946 to 1960. Lever action rifle manufactured circa 1950. Features blued finish, checkered walnut forend & curved wrist shoulder stock, serrated steel buttplate, 24" tapered barrel, raised bead/blade front sight, semi buckhorn adjustable rear sight, fixed rotary magazine with brass cartridge counter, lever lock, cocking indicator. Vintage Lyman 57 SA peep sight (1939-1961) installed on the tang. Bore is excellent/bright condition. Retains about 86% blue finish, with handling marks, edge losses, minor scratches and handling wear. Bolt has bright surface. Case hardened colors on lever are about 50%. Wood is very good/sound with minor dings/scratches. Action is smooth.
