Lot 839 Secert Service Special DA .32 S&W #16293
Vintage trade name double action top-break revolver chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson. The "Secret Service Special" revolvers were commissioned by Fred Biffar Co., a Chicago based firm, Made by Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works during the period 1912 - 1928 (Approx). They are based on their lower in-house brand, U.S. Revolver Co. Blue finish, ribbed 3" barrel, 'half moon' front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the top of the "T" shaped barrel latch, smooth case hardened crescent trigger, case hardened hammer with knurled low-spur, fluted five-shot cylinder, steel frame and custom two-piece hard rubber grips with ":SSS" monograms. Serial number on triggerguard. Cross bar safety, Revolver retains approximately 60% 0f blue, with the rest turned a brown patina, mostly on the frame, some light pitting on the barrel near the muzzle. Action is sound with good lock-up, the bore is bright with good rifling, Grips are very good.
