Lot 831 Raised Carved Spanish "Treasure" Box.

With forged iron mounts and lock mechanism removed. Unusual and early forged iron hinges. Carving shows heavy Moorish influence as found in Southern Spain. Also early wood construction. Box is dated to early 17th to mid 18th century at latest. Good condition for its age of 300-400 years with minor imperfections, slight damage - a few small chips and losses that are minor and not unsightly, and normal wear. Measures 15 1/2" height by 24" width approximately. Provenance: Art Yates (Santa Fe Trading Post 1982 to a major Southern California collector's estate.) **Buyer must arrange shipping.**
