Lot 829 National Arms Co. No.1 Derringer .41 RF #5060
Engraved single shot spur trigger derringer chambered in .41 Rimfire. All-metal Model Number 1 was originally manufactured by Moore's Patent Firearms in Brooklyn, NY from 1860-65, followed by its successor, the National Arms Company, 1865-1870 (also located in Brooklyn, NY). Predecessor to the Colt derringer, who bought to patent in 1870. Features a factory engraved brass frame, pivoting 2 1/2" contoured barrel marked "National Arms Co. Brooklyn N.Y.", 1865 patent date and serial number on the underside, blade front sight, knife blade extractor, iron frame, knurled spur trigger. Barrel shows a dark gray patina overall with legible markings. Hammer doesn't lock in the cocked position, bore is pitted, the hammer pin is a replacement and the nickel finish on the brass frame/grip is about 75% with handling wear. A rare pistol, about 3000 manufactured.
