Lot 827 LeVaux Patent 9mm #5957

Belguim made LeVaux Patent 9mm center fire top break revolver with Western style holster and alleged Tombstone, Arizona history. A well known collector and holster maker met an actor named Buck Holland who acted in Western recreations around the Hall of Gunfighters Museum in Tombstone. In his youth Buck found this nickel plated LeVaux revolver fully loaded with 38 Smith & Wesson caliber shells in a tote sack of waxed canvas by a loose block in the chimney of an adobe that served as the outlaw Clanton's Ranch headquarters. The document further states the gun was professionally cleaned and disassembled. A researched portfolio shows adobe where found, and other information on Clantons, LeVaux revolver and history of acquisition. The revolver is Belguim and British proofed and numbered 5957, made about 1877-1880 and shootout at OK Corral was 1881. The last page is signed on back by the collector who owned Cimmaron Holsters and purchased rig from Buck Holland. The revolver is in good to very good condition with 80% plus old heavy nickel plate and some rust and erosion where nickel has lifted. Grips are very good and bore bright. Action works and ejector also but may pop out with cartridges when opened as not latching securely. 5 1/2" bbl about 10 1/2" overall. **Antique Firearm**
