^Lot 810 Eddystone 1917 .30-06 #639892

US military Mauser pattern bolt action rifle manufactured circa 1918 for use in WWI by the Eddystone division of Remington. Often referred to as "Enfield", due to British Enfield type rifling. Features 26" barrel, protected blade front sight. protected ladder type peep rear sight, manual safety, 6 round magazine, wood handguard & stock with grasping grooves, trap door in butt, sling swivels, stacking swivel. Bore is good condition with frosting. Retains 80% re-blued finish with scrapes and scratches, handling wear with some bare metal. Several screw heads show damage to slots. Wood has been sanded, satin tung oil type finish applied, shows loss of sharp edges in forend grooves, some dents & dings. Small "OGEK" stamp on left side near receiver. Metal fit to wood is very good. Retains US Army Ordnance "bomb" marks. Barrel dated "5-18".
