Lot 404a SIG 1871 Vetterli Krabiner .41 RF #38118

The 1871 Vetterli Karabiner (Carbine) was a shortened, repeating rifle designed for Swiss cavalry and special troops. Manufactured circa. 1871-74. Manufacturer's mark "Soc. Ind. Suisse Syst. Vetterlin" with Swiss Cross and serial number stamped on left receiver. Serial number matched on receiver, barrel and magazine lifter. 20" Knox form barrel with blade and elevation adjustable rear sights, cocking indicator, finger rest triggerguard, sling swivels, cleaning rod. Nice honey colored wood checkered/smooth forearm with steel cap, butt stock with steel butt plate. Blue is about 60% with handling wear, mostly on the receiver & triggerguard, the bore is excellent/bright with strong rifling, wood is very good/sound with a few minor sctraches/dings and the action is smooth.
