U.S WWII era military bolt action rifle manufactured circa 1943. Serial number on dates it to April, 43, R.A. barrel dated 4-43. Features full parkerized finish, Ogden Arsenal Type S walnut stock without grasping grooves, walnut handguard, 24" barrel, protected blade front sight , adjustable peep rear sight mounted to receiver, bent bolt handle, matte blued bolt shroud stamped "R", and unmarked front sight protector, manual safety, magazine cut-off switch, sling swivels, stacking swivel, butt trap with hinged cover, checkered flat steel buttplate. Bottom metal and bands are stamped. Stock is stamped with the following, crossed cannons, FJA cartouche- Frank J Atwood (military inspector), RA (Remington Arms) The markings on the bottom of the stock are factory inspector markings. The P on the grip is the proof marking, and the "OG" on the right shoulder stock is for Ogden Arsenal. Retains 99% finish with minor scoffs. Stock is very good with a light coat of varnish. Action is crisp/tight. Bore is excellent/bright, all marking are crisp/clear.
