^Lot 200 Miroku / U.S. Repeating Arms Winchester 1886

.45-70 Gov't. SN: 00ESLR1257. This Miroku (Japan) made lever action rifle is a Winchester Model 1886 Extra Light Rifle chambered in .45-70 Government. The left side of the barrel is marked "U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO. INC., NEW HAVEN, CT U.S.A. / JAPAN/MIROKU" and at the rear with "CAL. .45-70 GOVT.". The top-rear of the barrel is marked with the ovalled "WP" proof. The top of the chamber ring is also marked with the ovalled "WP" proof. The top tang is marked "WINCHESTER / MODEL 1886". The right side of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 EXTRA LIGHT RIFLE. WINCHESTER LICENSEE". Blue finish 22" round barrel with dovetailed blade and semi-buckhorn rear sights. The stocks are a 2-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb and checkered blued steel shotgun-style buttplate. sliding tang safety. The bore is excellent/bright, wood is excellent with a few very minor dings, action is smooth and the blue is about 98% with a couple of minor scratches on the right receiver.
