Antique single action cap-n-ball black powder percussion revolver. Early manufacture, circa 1857. commercially sold iron "small" triggerguard and backstrap. Features an 7.5" octagon barrel, brass front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the hammer lip, smooth thin trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped Naval Engagement scene, loading lever, round iron triggerguard, iron backstrap, one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip. Bore is good, fairly bright with sharp rifling, some light scattered pitting throughout, dark grooves. Metal surfaces show mottled gray patina, scattered areas of light to heavy pitting. Cleaned,. Engraved scene on cylinder is there, feint. Wood is good condition with slight shrinkage, small dents, minor chip out of right side at toe. Serial number repeated on barrel, cylinder, triggerguard & back strap. wedge numbered "0946" Action is sound.
