^Lot 68 Wellsburgh/Elwell Kentucky .62 (or 20 ga) #S617

Full stock "buck and ball" smoothbore Kentucky marked Wellsburgh on bbl and Elwell on back-action lock. Also stamped #S617 on left side of breach for Stembridge Gun Arsenal. 54" overall with 39" octagon to round bbl of approximately 20 ga or .62 cal. "Burned cord" striped stock with double triggers that work well. Good overall condition with some wood loss at edges. Provenance: Walter O'Connor who cataloged and identified Stembridge movie guns in 1970's. Sold by Little John's Auctions 1990's to Southern California collector for O'Connor. We believe this was one of many used in Jeremiah Johnson and the Mountain Men but not prominently displayed in film as to I.D. exactly. May improve with research.
