In June 2024 very early one morning--while on safari in the private Sabi Sand Nature Reserve with friends from the USA- this beautiful female leopard crossed the dirt road in front of our open safari vehicle. We followed her around a few bushes to a slight rise where she sniffed around, urinated, checked out her surroundings & then settled down in this perfect pose with the early morning sun bathing her in a golden light. I knew right away that this sighting would be the inspiration for a stunning painting & here it is!
