DONATION:
This item is for a 12-day guided brown bear hunt that includes the coveted Governor’s tag for Afognak Island.
There are about 3,500 Kodiak bears; a density of about 0.7 bears per square mile.
This hunt boasts a high success rate with bears average in excess of 9’.
The hunt winner will join full boar Alaska for a 12-day hunt with all meals, lodging, and bush flights included.
Trespass fees and permits Alaska included.
SB161-163- Afognak/Raspberry/Shuyak/Marmot Islands brown bear.
Permit winner will receive a complimentary hunting license for the season, big game locking tag (if required), and the hunt permit.
DATES:
October 25-November 30, 2026, or in accordance with hunt dates to be published in the 2026-2027 Alaska Hunting Regulations on July 1, 2026.
Legal Animal:
One (1) brown bear, except cubs or females accompanied by cubs.
If a bear is wounded—no other bear can be pursued in Game Management Unit 8 for the rest of the regulatory year.
HUNTER REQUIREMENTS:
This hunt is available to Alaska residents and non-residents.
Non-Resident brown bear hunters are required to hunt with a registered hunting guide or an Alaska resident relative 19 years of age or older within the second degree of kindred (father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse, grandparent, grandchild, brother/sister-in-law, son/daughter-in-law, father/mother-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepsister, stepbrother, stepson, or stepdaughter).
Non-resident aliens (non-U.S. citizens) hunting any big game must be accompanied in the field by an Alaska licensed guide.
