High success rate–excellent opportunity for clients to harvest a wide variety of trophy sea ducks, a nice trophy buck, and fox. Method of take is shotgun sea duck hunts and hunters’ choice for deer hunts.
The sea duck hunt presents non-stop action, and the trophy Sitka blacktail deer, and fox offer the opportunity for a unique trophy.
Kodiak offers three types of fox: red fox, cross-fox, and silver fox.
The sea duck hunting is done primarily over decoys from shore or jump-shooting birds.
Numerous sea duck species use Kodiak Island open waters as their wintering grounds, and typically, guests are treated to opportunities for Harlequin, old squaw (long-tailed duck), Mergansers (common and red-breasted), Scoters (common, surf, and white-winged), king, and common eider.
