This original creation from Maryline Lecourtier is made on genuine leather, a living material with infinite possibilities. The leather is first moistened, then sculpted using stamping tools and a hammer. Carving, sanding, and shaping are added to enhance the relief, creating subtle and expressive textures. Once dry, it is painted with specially formulated leather paint, ensuring a unique and durable finish. Each piece evolves with the light and viewing angle. At times, the relief draws the eye; at others, the paint takes center stage, offering a dynamic and ever-changing visual experience. This rare technique, still little known to the general public, gives this work a strong identity and is attracting growing interest. The black leather has been chosen for its contemporary and elegant appearance. The artist also works with natural and brown tones, offering a variety of styles and moods. Mainly inspired by wildlife art, each piece the artist creates is unique, entirely handcrafted, with special attention paid to detail and the emotion of the subject.
