A good example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine or Navy dagger. This dagger measures 16 1/2" overall with a 9 3/4" blade that is etched with nautical and foliate motifs. The opposite side of the blade is marked " ORIGINAL (logo) Eickhorn SOLINGEN". Gilded brass anchor adorned crossguard with eagle and party symbol pommel. Wire wrapped off white grip with a correctly tied knot attached. Gilded brass "lightning bolt" style scabbard. CONDITION: moderate wear overall. Blade shows wear with some spotty oxidation. Hilt retains most of its finish and the grip is undamaged but the pommel is a tad loose. Scabbard retains trace of gilded finish and shows several tiny shallow dimples. (02-25325/BF).
