^Lot 623 British Enfield No. 2 Mk 1** Double Action Revolver with Holster

British Enfield No. 2 Mk 1** Double Action Revolver with Holster, #Z7980, .38 S&W cal., 5" barrel, black painted finish, black plastic grips, blade front sight and fixed square-notch rear sight. Marked on right side of frame with Enfield Arsenal logo and "I**". Top of barrel marked with "(proof stamp)/(Broad Arrow)/43/CAL.38". Matching numbers on frame, barrel, and cylinder. British export proofs are stamped on right side of barrel. A steel marking disc is mounted to the right side grip, and a lanyard ring is fitted to the bottom of the frame. Condition overall is good, retaining approx. 50% of its painted finish, which shows overall flaking and scratches. Small rust spot on rear of cylinder. Right side grip is cracked at the forward base, and both sides show overall small chips and handling wear. Action locks up and cycles smoothly; bore has a pit at mid barrel, otherwise bright with worn rifling; chambers are clean and bright. Holster is stamped on the rear "M.W.&S. LTD 1954" and "ENGLAND". Condition is good showing patina to the metal and stains to the body. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R)
