Rare French MAS 36 LG48 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet, #FH74826, 7.5x54mm cal., 23" barrel, parkerized finish, hardwood stock and hand guard, inverted-"V" front sight with protectors, and adjustable aperture on ramp rear sight, graduated to 1200 meters. Original bayonet is in very good condition and locks into place smoothly. Includes a brown leather French sling, in good used condition. Left side of the receiver is marked "MAS MLE 1936" and stamped "EBG" on left side of the receiver ring. "7" is marked on right side of the buttstock. Matching numbers. No visible import marks. Rifle was French arsenal converted into its present configuration by fitting an adjustable sleeve over the barrel, attaching a launcher sight, and new nose cap assembly. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 80%-85% toning parkerized finish, showing some edgewear, handling marks to the trigger guard and magazine, and patina to the buttplate. Wood is about good, with bruises and handling marks, especially to right side of the buttstock. Action operates smoothly. Bore is heavily greased but appears to be in at least very good condition.
