Swiss Model 1869 Vetterli Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet, #55368, .41 Swiss Rimfire cal., 33.1" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock with checkered forend, blade front sight, and adjustable rear sight with "U"-notched groove, graduated to 1000 meters. Includes steel cleaning rod and black leather sling, both are in good condition. Also included is a socket bayonet with 20" blade, 23" overall. There are inspection stamps on the shoulder and #190 is stamped on the socket. In good condition, showing cleaning and polishing, locks on and dismounts smoothly from the rifle. Rifle is marked "SOC. IND. SUISSE (Swiss cross) SYST.VETTERLIN" on left side of the receiver. Floorplate with matching serial number. Rifle is in good condition, metal has worn to gray, with scattered spots of pitting and rust patina. Wood with some areas of dark staining, general dents and scratches. Action and loading gate operate smoothly. Bore rates fair, with areas of visible rust and frosting, rifling is visible. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)
