Spanish DWM M1916 Bolt Action Carbine, #5256, 7x57mm cal., 18.25"barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock and handguard, dovetailed inverted-"V" front sight, and adjustable folding leaf rear sight with "V"-notched groove, graduated to 1400 meters. Cap is missing from the top of the rear sight slide assembly. Includes black leather sling with brass buckle and steel cleaning rod. Sling is in fair condition, showing age and wear. Screw stem is broken off the tip of the cleaning rod. Left side of the receiver rail is marked "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN./BERLIN". Barrel, receiver, and bolt handle are stamped with London proof and view marks, indicating this carbine passed through the UK after leaving Spanish service. No recent import marks. Condition overall is fair, with the metal mostly worn and toned to a silver color with brown patina. Wood is good, with dents and bruises from military use scattered throughout. Action operates smoothly. Bore rates poor with worn, barely visible rifling. Est.: $250-$400. (C&R)
