Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army Semi-Automatic Pistol, #178102, .45 ACP cal., 5" barrel, blued finish, checkered double diamond walnut grips, with standard blade front sight and fixed "U"-notched rear sight. Includes one blued steel magazine, base is marked "COLT/45 AUTO". Mfgd 1917. Frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with "GHS" (Maj. Gilbert H. Stewart) inspection mark on the left side. Slide has the patent dates to AUG. 19, 1913, and Colt company markings on the left side, with a "(Rampant Colt)" at the rear that is not circled. Right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Barrel is marked "P" on the lug. Pistol is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 75%-80% factory blue, with wear on the grip straps, mild pitting on left side of the slide and slide stop. Factory lettering is clear. Grips are very good. Action works properly. Bore is lightly pitted, rifling is clearly defined, and the bore rates good overall. Est.: $2,000-$2,800. (C&R/PPT)
