U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle, #327042, .30-40 Krag cal., 30" barrel with brass muzzle cover, blued finish, walnut stock, blade front sight, and M1901 adjustable rear sight. A commercial leather sling is attached. Receiver is marked "U.S./MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 327042" on the left side. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 70% thinning and toning blue, mottled on the receiver, showing additional wear to the barrel band and buttplate. Stock has a boxed "JSA/1901" cartouche on the left side and a circled "P" behind the trigger guard. Stock is in very good condition, with scattered moderate dents and scratches. Three-piece cleaning rod is stored in the butttrap. Action works properly. Bore is very good with clearly defined rifling. A very collectible original rifle. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (C&R)
