^Lot 185 Iranian Model 49 Mauser Bolt Action Carbine

Iranian Model 49 Mauser Bolt Action Carbine, #NVSN, 8x57mm cal., 18.1" barrel, blued finish with bright bolt assembly, inverted-"V" front sight with protectors, adjustable tangent rear sight with "U"-notched groove, graduated to 2000 meters. Cleaning rod is missing. Top of the receiver ring is marked with crowned Iranian crest, with partially visible Iranian proof stamps on the right side. Right side of the buttstock is stamped with a faint crescent moon and star symbol. Matching Farsi numbers. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 85% blue, showing areas of thinning and toning, with small impact marks to the trigger guard/magazine floorplate, and wear to the buttplate. Bright bolt assembly shows mild toning. Front barrel band is an "H" type with parade hook. Wood has been lightly sanded and varnished, now in good condition, showing scattered light impressions and scratches. There is a small, closed crack to top of the stock wrist, behind the receiver tang. Action operates smoothly. Bore is bright with very good, defined rifling. Est:$800-$1,200. (C&R)
