L.C. Smith Field Grade Side-by-Side Shotgun, #145988. 20 ga., 28" solid milled rib barrels are marked "L.C. Smith Field Grade", have 2-3/4" chambers, and are choked IM/Full. Featherweight sidelock action locks up via a Greener crossbolt, and features double triggers, automatic safety, and auto-ejectors. Receiver and hammer lock plates retain 85%+ case colors, but many areas are frosted. Splinter forend and pistol grip buttstock are oil-finished American walnut, with moderate checkering, black plastic grip cap and buttpad. Stock dimensions are 14-1/4" x 1-5/8" x 2-5/8". Mfgd 1935 by Hunter Arms Co. of Fulton, N.Y. Condition is very good, with only the case color frosting, and cracking of the wood buttstock as negatives. Action is like new, with very little wear to the surfaces. Breech closes tight and functions perfectly; bores mirror bright. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)
