Remington Smoot New Model No. 1 Revolver, #1251, .30 RF short cal., 2-13/16" solid rib barrel, nickel finish, case hardened hammer & trigger, checkered black hard rubber grips, spur trigger, fixed half-moon front sight, and notched rear sight. This later production revolver features a fixed recoil shield. Barrel address is marked in one-line "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. PAT. W.S. SMOOT. OCT. 21, 1873." The serial number is stamped twice on the left side of the grip frame. Overall condition of this revolver is excellent, retaining approx. 97% bright nickel finish, with a few minor spots of flaking, general light micro-scratching and handling marks. Case colors have toned dark. Grips are excellent. Front portion of the barrel address is worn but legible. Action is crisp. Rifling is fine with scattered spots of light erosion. Est.: $600-$800.
