Remington-Elliot Single Shot Derringer, #1145, .41 RF cal., 2.5" barrel, blue finish to the barrel, nitre blued hammer and trigger, two-piece walnut grips, with small bead front sight. Matching numbers on bottom of the frame and barrel. Barrel address is marked in two-lines "REMINGTONS. ILION, N.Y./ELLIOT. PAT. AUG. 27, 1867." Mfgd circa 1867-1888 with an estimated total production of approx. 10,000. Overall condition is very good. Majority of the barrel finish remains, showing areas of thinning and mild patina. Hammer retains approx. 90% nitre blue, finish on the trigger is mostly toned dark, except for the edges. Frame displays a gray/brown patina. Grips are fine, with intermittent moderate handling marks, and areas of flaking to the varnish finish on the lower half of each grip. Factory lettering is sharp. Action is crisp. Bore is primarily bright, with a few small spots of minor erosion, excellent rifling. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique) (Michael Strietbeck Collection)
