Early Remington-Beals 2nd Model Pocket Revolver, #39, .31 cal., 3" octagon barrel, blued finish with case hardened hammer, checkered hard rubber grips, fixed cone front sight, and "V"-notched rear sight. Barrel address is marked in two-lines "F. BEALS PATENT JUNE 24, 56 & MAY 26, 57/REMINGTON & SONS ILION, N.Y.". Matching numbers located on left side of the grip frame and underside of the barrel. The 2nd Model was only manufactured between 1858 and 1859, with a total production quantity likely under 1,000 . This revolver is in very good to near fine condition overall condition, displaying approx. 65% blue on the barrel and cylinder, with traces of finish on the frame. There is some mild pitting, particularly on the cylinder. Grips show signs of moderate age and wear, no significant blemishes. Markings are clear. Action is crisp.
