Made at the Richmond Armory, Virginia. Marked on the lock "C.S. over Richmond, VA" dated 1863. Also marked "C.S." on the top tang of the brass buttplate. Bonus: comes complete with original linen shoulder strap.

The wood has had some cleaning and there is some pitting around the nipple as one would expect from that period. Otherwise, in good battle field used condition. Lock works well. Has period initials of soldier. Back sight might be a replacement.

Gun has been in the possession of the owner since the 1960's. Overall, a good example of a rare confederate musket! Chances of finding a Confederate musket in any condition is rather slim.
