Made original in England the barrel has the word SURREY stamped into it on the top of the barrel.

Surrey stamped on top of the barrel is an indication that this rifle, rather than
maintaining it's original military trim, has been professionally turned into a sporting
rifle. There was a company in Canada, it was either Globeco or Adanac, that did a
booming business converting these for the civil trade.
