The Savage Sporter Model 23A is a discontinued repeating bolt action rifle
created by the American firearm manufacturer Savage Arms Company in Utica,
New York.
It was in production from 1933 to 1942 as a sporting rifle for small game.
The model was chambered for.22 Long Rifle low speed and high speed cartridges.
The rifle was an improved version of the Savage Model 23A, with a speed-lock and
a checkered stock.
This one is in good condition - a crack free stock with minimal scratchesna ddents.
Does have a chip out of the beavertail end of the forearm area.
All metal surfaces are about 55% blue and also have a few scratches.
Bore is good. Does have vintage target mounts on top of receiver & barrel.
Original iron sights are in place.
