One of the last remaining historic hunting lodges on the Currituck Sound, National Audubon Society’s Pine Island Sanctuary offers hunters a piece of living history- 2600 hundred acres of coastal wetlands and maritime forest un-like anything else on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Ranked as one of the most Important Bird Areas in the Western Hemisphere due to its unique geography and habitat, Pine Island is truly a treasure of waterfowling heritage.
