Standard unique sliding breech configuration missing leather covering of 24" barrel, brass buttplate, case colored frame is stamped "SHARPS / & / HANKINS / PHILADA" and "SHARPS / PATENT / 1859" on opposite sides. CONDITION: very good overall, though missing leather cover probably since use. Frame is silver/gray patina with crisp markings. Barrel is brown patina. Buttstock is sound, large chip at top of buttplate, missing sling swivel. Mechanically fine, good rifled bore. (01-27235/JS). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
