^Lot 395 Mossi Peoples Fertility Doll

Burkina Faso, Mossi peoples fertility dolls collected in 1982 South Africa and reviewed by a member of the Ethnic Arts Council & Charles D. Miller III as having correct patina and wear from handling and use. These dolls were worn on young girls backs with wrappings which create a patina such as this example. Size 14 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W. Provenance: Family collection of an esteemed diplomat and ambassador amassed during travel and work circa 1960-1990s in the medical field providing charitable advanced medical care throughout the African continent and internationally.
