^Lot 376 Igbo Horned Janus Helmet Mask, Nigeria

Nigeria, Igbo peoples. Horned Janus mask carved in wood and wrapped in leather painted in pigment. Leather wrapped with two opposing faces in the Janus fashion with one in red and another in white. Carved circular horns pierced at the center. Size 18 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W x 11 1/2" L, 26" H on included custom stand. Condition: Well preserved condition with losses commensurate with age..
