Lot 369 Old Primitive Philippines Standing Bulul, Rice God
Early Ifugao wood carved standing Filipino Rice God with textile belt in blue red and white. Broad shouldered figure, standing in a slight squat position with arms at his side. Almond slit eyes, rectangular protruding nose, small protruding ears. Carved from a single piece of wood including an accordion squared base. Inventory sticker on the base purports the piece to be Poitan Bulul. Size 22 3/4" H, 6" W. Condition: Wear throughout with surface scratched and split to wood, patina throughout commensurate with age.
